Olivia Munn is heading from The Newsroom to the sports desk.

Munn is executive producing a period drama about a young female sportscaster set in the early 1970s. The project, in development at The CW, comes from writer Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife).

The show centers on a journalist who is hired by an ambitious New York news director who wants to put a female sports reporter on camera—a radical move in 1974.

Munn will executive produce with Humphrey via CBS TV Studios. Stacia Peters is also developing the project with Munn.
