Ricky Gervais returning as Golden Globes host after vowing to never host again

After his third hosting stint in 2012, Gervais said, “I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again.” But after a three-year hiatus, Gervais, has agreed to return as host in January 2016. “Ricky Gervais left us with a lasting impression and we are thrilled to have him back in our show as we honor the best in film and television,” says Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Lorenzo Soria. “His off-the-cuff wit and quirky charm will surely have the room and audiences around the world at the edge of their seats.”
