There’s a shake-up on Team Scorpion this season as Alana de la Garza (far right, with Katharine McPhee and Ari Stidham) reports for duty as Adriana Molina, the new deputy director of Homeland Security tasked with supervising Walter (Elyes Gabel) and his band of geniuses. “She has a bit of a personal agenda,” executive producer Nicholas Wootton says of the character, who will appear in at least three episodes. That attitude doesn’t fly with special agent Cabe Gallo (Robert Patrick), and the two butt heads. “She’s super tough and super smart,” adds executive producer Nick Santora. “But her drive results in the members of the group not coming first, and it eventually might lead to the end of her relationship with Team Scorpion.”

Scorpion, Season premiere, Monday, Sept. 21, 9/8c, CBS
