NBC looking to reboot Xena: Warrior Princess

A “modern reboot” of the Lucy Lawless action-adventure drama is in the works, with original executive producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert on board. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reboot, aimed for 2016, would feature a new Xena that “would have to have the charisma and charm of (Lucy) Lawless and the smarts of The Hunger Games’ Katniss as producers are said to be looking for a sophisticated and smart superhero for a new generation.” The news of a reboot has come as Lucy Lawless has talked about reviving her classic character for a TV movie.
