What To Know

  • Savannah Chrisley and Jason Galanis married in the Cayman Islands on July 14, according to marriage records.
  • The reality star announced her pregnancy and engagement earlier this week.
  • Savannah’s father, Todd Chrisley, admitted that he didn’t embrace the relationship at first.

Savannah Chrisley and her new beau, Jason Galanis, are already married, despite only announcing their engagement publicly earlier this week.

According to marriage records obtained by People, the 29-year-old reality star and the 56-year-old businessman tied the knot on Tuesday, July 14, at Cayman Islands Baptist Church. The marriage followed a year of dating and came just two days before Galanis’ 56th birthday.

Earlier this week, Savannah announced she was pregnant and engaged, though she did not reveal she and Galanis were already married. On her Unlocked podcast, she shared how Galanis proposed with a massive oval-cut diamond ring while they vacationed in the Cayman Islands.

The Chrisley Knows Best alum did not reveal Galanis’ name in her pregnancy announcement, referring to him as “J” in social media posts and as “Jason” on her podcast. However, Us Weekly later confirmed the mystery man as convicted fraudster Jason Galanis.

In 2020, Galanis was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for his part in “two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes,” according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. In one of the schemes, Galanis was accused of defrauding investors, including the Oglala Sioux Native American tribe, out of tens of millions of dollars.

Galanis, who served time in the same prison with Savannah’s father Todd Chrisley, is a former associate of Hunter Biden, who testified from prison during the Republican impeachment inquiry into former President Joe Biden in 2024. A year later, President Donald Trump commuted his prison sentence, though he gave no reason as to why.

Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley opened up about Savannah’s pregnancy and new relationship on Thursday’s (October 29) Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast. Todd admitted that he was reluctant to “embrace” his daughter’s relationship with Galanis at first.

“He’s 20 years older, and it was not something I embraced because… I mean, to the point that I had a choice to make,” Todd said, per People. “It was either embrace my daughter’s decision or lose my daughter. And nothing is ever coming between me and my daughter.”

He continued, “I love Savannah with my heart and soul, but did I advocate for this? No, but I will tell you that he has treated her with the utmost of respect.”

Todd, who is a year older than Galanis, warned that his daughter might only “have 20 years with him, and I’ll retire with him in the assisted living.”

“But then he came to me, he asked for her hand in marriage, and I said to him, ‘You do understand that she may be the only love that you claim you’ve ever had, but you won’t be her only love,'” he recalled. “And he said, ‘Well, it’s my job while I am to make sure she never forgets it.'”

Savannah acknowledged the age difference, telling her dad that she’d rather have 20 years of everything than “50 years of nothing.”

While Todd might have come around on the marriage, the same can’t be said for Galanis’ estranged brother, Derek Galanis. “It’s his biggest con yet… This girl’s in for a rocky ride,” Derek said in an interview with Page Six, claiming his brother is “not a changed man.”

“My brother is one year younger than her father,” he added. “Both my brother and her father were pardoned by Trump. This is a continuation. It’s wild.”
