Savannah Chrisley is defending her unborn child after it was revealed that her new fiancé is convicted fraudster Jason Galanis, who served time at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, with her father, Todd Chrisley.

“You are not a headline. You are not a controversy,” the 29-year-old reality star wrote on her Instagram Story alongside a sonogram picture of her unborn baby. “You are not defined by anyone’s past, anyone’s mistakes, or anyone’s opinions.”

Savannah announced her pregnancy and engagement on Tuesday (October 27) on social media and her Unlocked podcast. She only referred to her new beau as “J” or “Jason” when speaking about him, revealing he is a lot older than her. Us Weekly later confirmed the mystery man to be Jason Galanis.

“We do everything together,” Chrisley said on her podcast when talking about her 56-year-old fiancé. “It’s just such an amazing, fulfilling feeling to finally find your person. And I’m there. So yes, the age difference. So what?”

In 2020, Galanis was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for his part in “two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes,” according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. In one of the schemes, Galanis was accused of defrauding investors, including the Oglala Sioux Native American tribe, out of tens of millions of dollars.

“You are innocent, deeply loved, and the greatest blessing God could have ever entrusted your daddy and I with,” Savannah continued in her post. “No amount of noise in this world will ever overshadow the joy of being your mama. You are my answered prayer. And I will never apologize for celebrating you.”

She added, “‘My sweet, thumb-sucking baby… you are worth it ALL!”

Galanis, a former associate of Hunter Biden, testified from prison during the Republican impeachment inquiry into former President Joe Biden in 2024. A year later, President Donald Trump commuted his prison sentence, though he gave no reason as to why.

Two months after Galanis’ sentence was commuted, Trump pardoned Savannah’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were serving a combined 19 years in prison after being convicted of bank and tax fraud in 2022. Todd and Julie spent just a little over two years behind bars.

Galanis and Todd’s prison time overlapped from January to August 2023, per Page Six.
