‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Who Got Married After Show Shares Photos of Beach Wedding
Jeopardy! contestant Polly Bethea has shared photos of her beach wedding after telling host Ken Jennings that she was getting married right after the show.
On the October 27 episode, the creative director from Athens, Texas, shared the information during her anecdote. She didn’t win the game, ending with $4,608. However, she went home with $3,000 as the second-place winner… and a new husband.
During the anecdotes, Bethea told Jennings that right after she filmed this episode, she and her fiancé were going to get married in California. Now, the game show contestant shared photos as proof on her Instagram page.
“Pics or it didn’t happen, as they say…” Bethea captioned her post on October 28. “Who else gets to say they changed into their wedding dress in the Jeopardy! greenroom? What is happily ever after? #jeopardy #jeopardywedding.”
The first photo featured Bethea taking a selfie in the green room, showing off the top of her wedding dress, which was sleeveless white lace.

The next two photos featured Bethea and her new husband, Trevor Dorn, on Manhattan Beach in California. The rest of her dress was shown. It was knee-length and white. She added white and yellow flowers to her look. Trevor wore orange shorts and a black button-down shirt. The couple was barefoot as they posed on the beach for a picture.
In the third picture, Bethea jumped on the beach in her wedding dress. She held up her flowers and added a Jeopardy! baseball cap to her look. The final photo was of the flowers and hat, landing in the sand on the beach.
“Congratulations! This was the best interview story ever!” former player Julie Sisson commented.
The game show contestant explained to Jennings that they decided to get married because of Jeopardy!. “We’ve been together for almost two decades, but we’re procrastinators, and we never got around to doing it for real.” Jennings laughed. “It started off as a joke. While we were planning the trip out here, we were like, ‘While we’re in Los Angeles, let’s get married,'” she said.
“The joke started making a lot of sense, so we landed, we went to the courthouse, we got our marriage license. After this, we’re heading out. I brought my dress. It’s in the green room.”
