‘Fire Country’ Sneak Peek: Bode & Chloe’s Weekend Together Is Interrupted

Well, at least Bode (Max Thieriot) and Chloe (Alona Tal) seem to have had some fun the night before because their weekend is interrupted in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the Friday, October 30, episode of Fire Country.

The two got sidetracked from dinner — “I smoked this brisket for 16 hours,” he says, though he doesn’t seem too heartbroken about that — and seem to be on the path to repeating the night before when CJ (Olivia Thirlby) showing up at the door and calling out interrupts their kiss.

“Are you serious?” Chloe asks as she hurries to put on shorts when Bode opens the door.

“Your mom is trying to call you,” CJ begins before seeing Chloe. “I completely forgot that you’re taking the weekend off.” She knows who Chloe is and introduces herself, and Bode’s girlfriend in turn recognizes her as “the one that’s helping with the VFD [volunteer fire department].”

As for Sharon’s (Diane Farr) call to CJ — the firefighter new to Edgewater has no idea how she got her number — the VFD needs to pass the Pack Test that day. “We have to do a three-mile hike in 45 minutes with a 45-pound pack,” CJ explains to Chloe.

Bode then tells his girlfriend he has to go. Watch the full sneak peek to see her reaction.

When it comes to Bode and Chloe’s relationship this season, “We’ll see about next steps. I mean, I guess technically, yes. It was so fresh and new and exciting. And I think obviously given what they’ve been through, given everything with Tyler [Conor Sherry], there’s inevitably stuff that they still need to figure out, things that they’ve not breezed past, but maybe have avoided in ways,” Thieriot told us ahead of the premiere. “But I think [there’s] a lot of good stuff as far as character building and relationship building moments for them where we get to see them go through that stuff and have real conversations and face real challenges. And yeah, I think it’s really exciting because we get a chance to really invest in the relationship and see different parts of it than we’ve seen so far.”

In this next episode, titled “Winners and Losers,” as a mounting controversy puts Station 42 under scrutiny, Bode and the volunteer firefighters face a challenging test that leads them to an unexpected rescue. Sheriff Country‘s W. Earl Brown also guest stars.
