Jamie Lee Curtis Repeatedly Interrupts ‘The View’ to Check on Injured Joy Behar
Jamie Lee Curtis made her visit number 22 (her lucky number, apparently) on The View on Wednesday (October 28), and in addition to talking about the inspiration for her new sitcom, Newlyweds, and looking back on some of her past projects, she also spent an outsized portion of her panel time checking in on Joy Behar.
Behar, a series original cohost, returned this week for the first time all month after suffering a fall on set and dislocating her shoulder.
Upon arriving to the talk show, Curtis gave cheek kisses to the other cohosts before taking a seat next to Behar.
“A special ‘mwah’ for you,” Curtis said. “How are you?”
“Why? ‘Cause I’m a pathetic case?” Behar asked.
“No, because you’re the injured bird… and so you get a special ‘mwah’ from all of us. We love you,” Curtis insisted.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg then steered the subject forward, but Curtis later returned to the subject of Behar.
After Curtis rejoiced in being the “head bitch in charge” on Newlyweds, since it was her own cocreation, she turned to Behar to ask if she was allowed to say that word.
“We always say bitch,” Behar confirmed.
That’s when Curtis touched Behar again and fawned, saying, “Don’t we all just want to curl around you and just say, ‘How you doing?'”
“She’s good,” Goldberg said.
“You good? You OK?” Curtis continued to ask.
That’s when Behar said with a stare, “You’re scaring me.”
“That’s my job,” Curtis said with a laugh before asking again, “Now, are you OK?”
“I’m fine,” Behar answered.
Curtis then went on to explain why she was so concerned, saying, “I love you! … I like you! I’ve known you for 22 years.”
“That’s true,” Behar said in response.
“So I can fawn on you a little bit,” Curtis continued.
“We’ve been fawning her,” Sunny Hostin then said before prompting Curtis with another question.
