‘Cupertino’ Sneak Peek: Christy Gets Swept Up in Billionaire ‘Kidnapping’

Talk about sweeping a girl off her feet. On the next episode of Cupertino, Christy Palladino (Ella Stiller) is going to have a story to tell after she finds herself in the middle of a “kidnapping” on Thursday’s (October 29) new “A.J. & Buddy.”

In the above sneak peek, exclusive to TV Insider, Christy seems thrilled to be on board a private jet filled with luxury products in the swanky bathroom … until the plane starts to take off, that is. From there, she confronts her captor, A.J. Cutter (Ben Cook), about “kidnapping” her, but he is too busy engaging in a rollicking session of “aisle surfing” to take any of it seriously. His nonchalant attitude about whisking her off to St. Kitt’s quickly rubs off on Christy, who, despite being surprised, doesn’t seem too miffed about this sudden change of plans.

A bonus quickly arrives when A.J. asks her about the lawyers she works for because, well, he might need some help right about now.

The episode, which is directed by Robert King, is described like so: “Michael [Mike Colter] and Olivia [Rachel Keller] defend the young founders of a prediction market site, one of whom has been arrested while the other flees on his private jet with Christy in tow after a night out together. Meanwhile, Natalia [Busy Philipps] and Nichole [Renée Elise Goldsberry] spend quality time together at the firm.”

About the last bit, TV Insider previously spoke to Goldsberry about what’s ahead in the episode, the pictures for which show Nichole and Natalia lacing up some boxing gloves, and she teased, “It’s a sizing up because there’s two formidable women in those two roles, and we haven’t really met, and we’re on opposite sides of the table. And I feel like we discover an opportunity that we didn’t anticipate to size each other up and figure out what we’re dealing with.”
