‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Are Stunned as Bride-to-Be Loses $80,000 on ‘Easy’ Puzzle

Well, that’s more money out of their pockets! A bride-to-be lost out on more money for her wedding after losing the Bonus Round on Wheel of Fortune.

Olivia Bordenet, from Chicago solved two Fortune Frenzies on October 22. The bride-to-be played against Diana Baker, from Miami who solved one Fortune Frenzy, and Larry Lam, from Benson, North Carolina.

Lam, a social worker who loves running, got on the board when he solved “Sitting In the Front Row” for $1,750. Baker, a woman who is passionate about abandoned dogs and cats, guessed a lot of the letters at the beginning of the crossword puzzle in the category “Brainy.” She then guessed an “A,” which wasn’t in the puzzle, so the turn moved to Lam, who solved “Insightful, Wise, Intelligent.” This gave him $5,100.

Bordenet won a trip to Australia after solving “Adrenaline Rush.” She took the lead with $21,598. Bordenet continued her lead when she solved two out of the three Triple Toss-ups. Baker solved the third.

She solved most of the letters in the final puzzle, but when it came time for the final spin, the solve went to Lam. “That’s a Big Number,” he solved for $1,500. This brought him to a final total of $6,650.

Baker went home with $3,000. Bordenet got a big chunk of change for her wedding with $25, 598. She would try to win more in the Bonus Round with the category “Phrase.”

The bride-to-be brought her mom and her fiancé, Jack, with her. Wheel of Fortune gave her “R,S,T,L,N, and E.” Bordenet chose “C,H,V, and O.”

“THE  _ _ _T  _S  OVER” was what the puzzle looked like. As the clock counted down, Bordenet guessed “The Best Is Over,” “The Worst Is Over,” “The Most Is Over,” and “The Mist is Over.”

She couldn’t figure out “The Wait Is Over.” There was $55,000 in the envelope, which would have given her $80,598. “Bummer,” Bordenet said.

“You’ve found the perfect man. The wait is over,” host Ryan Seacrest said. This loss came just one day after a groom-to-be lost out on over $100,000 for his wedding.

Fans reacted to the game show contestant’s loss on Reddit. “I enjoyed it as always. Can’t believe she missed the final puzzle,” one said.

“I got the bonus round puzzle!!! It was so d**n easy!!! I’m disappointed that Olivia missed an easy $55K for not solving THE WAIT IS OVER,” another commented.
