Dolly Parton’s Sister Stella Calls Out Trump & Republicans in Social Media Rant
What To Know
- Stella Parton publicly criticized Donald Trump and the Republican Party in a scathing social media rant.
- She alleged voting machine issues in Tennessee that she claims affected her own ballot.
- Stella is the younger sister of country icon Dolly Parton, who died on August 25 at 80 years old.
Stella Parton, the younger sister of the late Dolly Parton, has called out President Donald Trump and the Republican Party a day after alleging voting machines in Tennessee have been rigged.
“After reading all the comments yesterday about the hiccups with the voting machines, I decided to go ahead and explain exactly what happened to me when I voted on the first day of voting in Nashville, Tennessee last week at the Hermitage Library,” Stella wrote in a lengthy Facebook post on Thursday (October 23).
A day earlier, Stella claimed she had to go back three times to correct her vote “because it kept defaulting to [Republican candidate] Marsha Blackburn.” She added, “I would never vote for her for anything. I’m putting this out here because when we vote, we take it seriously but we try not to hold up the long lines. Do it anyway. Don’t let them rig this election.”
Her claims echoed those of other Williamson County, Tennessee, voters who told WSMV4 their votes kept defaulting. “You try to push the button for the candidate that you’re selecting, and it goes to another candidate,” one local voter told the outlet.
The Tennessee Secretary of State’s office told WSMV4 that around 400,000 people have voted and that it has received only one complaint matching Stella’s issue.
“When you are an honest person like most of us are, we try to trust the process but I’m livid over this, not only for myself but for every other voter in this country,” Stella continued in her latest post. “I’m so angry by all this devision [sic] in our country mainly caused by the Republican Party and their lack of accountability.”
She added, “I’m sick of hearing; Blue, Red, far left, extreme right when half this country runs around like blind dogs in a meat house as the saying goes. Trump gets up and rattles on about another man’s physique and people applaud. Have we lost our ever loving minds?”
Stella, who is a singer in her own right, called out various Republican officials, including United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. “Trump is even worse and out of his mind!” she added. “This voting issue will turn out like everything else they stick their noses into, a freaking disaster.”
“Pointing out the corruption and incompetence is a daily occurrence by me and countless others,” she concluded. “We’re screaming into the void while Bot farms attack our posts constantly. All while they are playing God with our lives. Wake up America we are on the precipice of destruction.”
Dolly passed away on August 25 at 80 years old. Reps for the Grammy winner confirmed that she died after a brief and private battle with an unspecified form of cancer. She was laid to rest during a private funeral service in Nashville on Friday, August 28.
Speaking to CBS Mornings last month, Stella revealed Dolly had political views but didn’t discuss them publicly. “She would never have offended anyone. She never would have done that. She was smarter than me,” she said. “You know, I tell everything. And I like everybody knowing what I think about it. Not her!”
