‘NCIS: Origins’: Emily Wickersham Offers Sneak Peek Into Her & Mark Harmon’s Reunion
What To Know
- Emily Wickersham will reprise her role as Bishop in multiple episodes of NCIS: Origins, reuniting with Mark Harmon’s Gibbs starting on October 27.
- Wickersham shared a behind-the-scenes look.
Bishop and Gibbs are together again! Emily Wickersham will be appearing in multiple episodes of NCIS: Origins, beginning with the Tuesday, October 27, one, as the reunions for Mark Harmon‘s Gibbs continue in the 2026 timeline.
Hours after her return was announced, Wickersham shared a carousel of photos and videos from set — including one of Bishop checking on Gibbs on the ground that has us worried! But remember, he was shot in the Season 3 premiere and the only treatment he’s gotten was him stitching himself up before leaving Alaska behind. He’s been on the go since, first visiting Woody (Bobby Moynihan) to see if he could run the print he took off his own neck when two masked men checked if he was dead — “One down, one to go,” since he used a Marine breathing technique to make it appear he was — then to NCIS HQ to see his former team member and the agency’s new director, Tony (Michael Weatherly) for access of the file linked to that print.
“A little bit of my origin story… I love this show, these people, and getting to be a tiny part of it,” Wickersham wrote in the caption of her post on Instagram. See the photos and videos below.

So far, what we know is that Tony enlists Bishop to help Gibbs as he continues on his quest to track down those unknown assailants. We still don’t know who the “one to go” is referring to.
Wickersham was a series regular on NCIS for eight years, departing in Season 18. She then returned last year, in Season 23, for two episodes. These upcoming episodes will be her first on NCIS: Origins.
The prequel’s showrunner, David J. North, told us that these reunions are “mainly driven by the story. I mean, Mark did this because I pitched him a story that he liked, and obviously he can’t be every week with our folks from Origins, and the people that we saw him with on the mothership are really important to him. So really, I just sat down as we, as writers, were working on the story and figuring out who, creatively, would he call, would he need? And of course, the first one was DiNozzo, and we’ll see what happens from there.”

The powers that be on this site either owe Mark Harmon a ton of money, or he is a major investor/owner of it. Soooo many articles about this misnamed Origins show. And since he's no longer on the original show (thank heavens!) he now feels the need to insert himself into the prequel that nobody asked for.
