‘Ghosts’: 3 Ways Pete Could Return in Season 6

When Ghosts ended its fifth season, the fate of everyone’s favorite arrow-skewered spirit, Pete (Richie Moriarty), was uncertain.

As viewers will recall, Pete set out on a trip with Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and Kyle (Ben Feldman) to find proof of Nancy’s (Betsy Sodaro) royal lineage to keep Woodstone safe from destruction. By proving Nancy was a royal, it would protect the property as a historical site because it was the place of her death. While the two livings and travel-gifted ghost were successful in the mission, the extended excursion led Pete to disappear altogether before getting back to the Woodstone property line.

So, where did he go? Is he gone for good? In the world of Ghosts, we’re hopeful we’ll see Pete again, and there are a few different ways it could happen. We break them down below.

Seance

It seems like an obvious thing, but each Halloween, the ghosts tend to hold a seance that brings back a spirit from the other side, whether it’s from up above or down below. It’s already been revealed that viewers will meet Hetty’s (Rebecca Wisocky) sister, Margaret (Maria Thayer), but that will come with the arrival of a new mirror. So, does that leave the door open for Pete to make his comeback with the help of a Halloween seance from his pals? We’ll keep our fingers crossed.

Reappear

When Pete would begin to disappear after extended trips off the property, he’d be restored the moment he crossed the ghost boundary. Is it possible that he’s repopulated somewhere else on the property and no one else knows yet? After all, Flower was stuck in a well for half of a season…

New Lore

The third potential option is something we can’t even begin to imagine as the CBS comedy continues to expand its horizons and lore with each passing episode. Perhaps Pete’s return will be rooted in something we can’t entirely explain just yet. Considering it’s always fun to learn something new in this wacky world, we’re not turning our back on this possibility.

But what are your theories for Pete’s potential return? Let us know in the comments section, and stay tuned for potential answers when the Halloween special arrives this fall on CBS.
