Will there be a Season 3 of Haunted Hotel?
Season 3 of Haunted Hotel has not yet been officially renewed by Netflix. However, creator and showrunner Matt Roller confirmed that the writers’ room has already finished the scripts for a potential third season. Chatting with Sonny Bunch on The Bulwark Goes to Hollywood podcast, Roller stated he is aiming for a release before Halloween 2027 if Netflix greenlights the project.
“In the Netflix model… you don’t get the next season until they see the numbers on the prior season, which means there’s always a point where all the work stops and you don’t get to backload episodes that can then be dropped on an annual cycle,” said Roller.
How did Season 2 of Haunted Hotel end?
The Season 2 finale of Haunted Hotel finds the deadly black forest threatening to consume the Undervale Hotel. To save the hotel, Esther (Natalie Palamides) uses a mending spell she learned when she was younger to repair a magical red lantern, thus stopping the advance of the black forest.

The finale also featured the apparent death of cursed mortal and demon hunter Dante Crowe (Diedrich Bader) at the hands of Katherine (Eliza Coupe), who then prophesies that Esther will be the next savior of humanity, setting up a future clash with her best friend Abaddon (Jimmi Simpson), who is tied to the world’s destruction.
The finale also revealed the final details surrounding Uncle Nathan’s (Will Forte) suicide, showing how his depression left him desperately needing his family’s support but unable to ask for it. Ironically, it was only as a ghost that he finally found the happiness he had been searching for.
