Pat Boone sent a blunt four-word message to his “longtime friend,” President Donald Trump, just weeks after advising him to “be quiet.”
On Monday, October 12, the 92-year-old singer and former host of The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom took to Instagram with a video for the POTUS, 80.
In the clip, Boone wondered aloud whether he “made a mistake” by posting his earlier advice to Trump in mid-September, then concluded he didn’t think he did. He also noted that “several million people seem to agree with what I was trying to convince him of.” Still, Boone hadn’t heard from the POTUS since telling him to stop talking and listen more.
“Not that I expected to,” Boone added. “But he has been a friend for a long time. And he knows I’ve stood up for him. I voted for him. And now, in the desperation of the election coming — the Senate, the Congress, all these things at stake — he’s out on the stump doing what he apparently feels is best. Bragging about what he’s been doing.”
He continued, “But Mr. President, you’re out there talking to young people who may be voting for the first time. And I really wish that you wouldn’t be imitating, as, apparently, it seems, some of the entertainers who are cursing with every other breath and not caring how other people are offended.”

That’s when Boone pointed out that some of these words have “slipped into” Trump speeches asking “parents and young people” to vote for him.
He then advised Trump with a four-word message, “Clean up the language… try to speak civilly. I think you’re gonna do a whole lot better if you can appeal to the mamas and the daddies and the kids because you’re wanting to be their president. And they want to be proud of you.”
Boone echoed this sentiment in his Instagram caption, writing that this time, his advice for Trump was “about the importance of watching our language, especially when young people and families are listening.” He concluded, “I believe a little kindness and civility can go a long way, don’t you?”
