Before ‘Percy Jackson’ Season 3, Walker Scobell Clears the Air About 2 Book Characters
Percy Jackson fans have been waiting two decades for The Titan’s Curse to be adapted on screen. That wish finally comes true in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3, premiering with two episodes on November 20 on Disney+ and Hulu. Series star Walker Scobell visited the TV Insider studio at New York Comic Con 2026 on October 9 to preview the season, answer some fan questions, and take some photos. During our interview, he addressed a lingering question that’s been on some fans’ minds since Season 2.
Percy Jackson showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz, and Craig Silverstein told TV Insider in 2025 that two beloved book characters, Charles Beckendorf and Silena Beauregard, would be series regulars once they arrived in the series, but they wouldn’t be in Season 2. The characters weren’t part of the Season 3 casting announcements, and Scobell confirms above that “they’re not in Season 3.”
“There’s just there’s just too much going on,” Scobell says. “There are a couple other characters that we introduce [in Season 3], but it’s not Silena and Beckendorf. I’m only saying that now because I know that, when the press tour starts, I’m going to get a million questions that’s like, ‘How is working with Silena and how is working with Beckendorf?'”
We asked Scobell what about Silena and Beckendorf, as fans call them, he thinks will help complete the demigod crew on the teen Greek mythology series. He’s trying not to think too far ahead about what those characters could be like on the show in a potential future season just in case his vision doesn’t line up with what ends up getting made. (As of the time of publication, Percy Jackson has not yet been renewed for Season 4.)

Scobell understands fan excitement about seeing these book characters for the first time on-screen, and he says that the show’s creators are “figuring out, if we get to do another season, how that’s going to work.”
“I always try to avoid answering those questions not because I don’t want to give it away, but because I have no idea how it’s going to work,” he tells us.
“If I give an answer now and it’s not what we do, then I have to go back and be like, ‘Oh, actually I think that was a really dumb idea,” Scobell jokes.
It’s better for his acting process to try not to think about it or fan-cast the roles so that, if the day comes that the characters do come to life on the show, he has no preconceived notions about how they’ll be depicted.
That’s a good practice when your show is chock-full of a star-studded list of guest stars.
