There don’t seem to be any hard feelings between Jackson Olson and Guillermo Rodriguez after the Savannah Bananas star came under fire for a controversial comment he made about his fellow Season 35 Dancing With the Stars contestant.
After the Instagram comment, which Olson has since deleted, went viral, fans accused him of disrespecting Rodriguez, but on October 6, the guys proved they’re on good terms. Olson shared a public apology to both Rodriguez and Dancing With the Stars fans, along with a video of himself and Jimmy Kimmel‘s sidekick dancing to “Nobody’s Perfect” by Hannah Montana.
The beginning of the clip shows Olson mouthing along to the words, “Everybody makes mistakes,” before Rodriguez pops up and proves it’s all water under the bridge.

He captioned the post, “To G and to all of you, from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry about my comment I made the other day and that it caused this much negativity. I love this guy. Now let’s do what this show is meant to be about.. DANCE. ily G.”
Olson made the comment on a post by the Loco Beach Coconuts, which featured one of their players performing Rodriguez and Witney Carson‘s foxtrot from Week 3 of DWTS on the field. Olson was impressed by Erik Ostberg’s skills and wrote, “But seriously, how did you do this better than him with 2 hours of rehearsal,” along with a crying laughing emoji.
Many fans took this as a dig at Rodriguez, who has scored at the bottom of the leaderboard during all three weeks of competition, but has become a huge fan favorite. Regardless, both guys are still in the running to win the Mirrorball, and will compete again during the October 6 live show. This week, Olson will be dancing a waltz, while Rodriguez is hitting the floor with a samba.
