What To Know

  • The premiere of Chicago Fire will immediately resolve the intense warehouse fire cliffhanger.
  • Showrunner Victor Teran assures fans that the outcome will not be glossed over.
  • The premiere will also address the departures of former battalion chief Pascal and original cast member Joe Miñoso.

All summer long, Chicago Fire fans have been waiting to see if everyone from 51 will survive the massive fire they were caught in the middle of at the end of the Season 14 finale. In just two days, on Wednesday, October 7, they’ll get that answer.

“Everyone was not just in danger; they were in extreme danger,” new showrunner Victor Teran points out to TV Insider. “And what I can tell you is we’re not going to not show you what happens. We’re not going to cheat. We’re going to come right back. We’re going to show an incredible call that really is one for the books in terms of how extremely dangerous it is.”

He adds, “There are civilians in that warehouse, and that’s going to make things all the more complicated.” That also means that you know that the firefighters of 51 will do everything they can to not only save each other but those civilians as well.

That structure fire framed the entire finale, with glimpses at the call shown throughout the episode leading up to 51 heading out to answer the 9-1-1. The members of Truck were on their way down from the roof on the ladder when a fireball consumed them. Squad was inside as the fire raged. Former battalion chief Pascal (Dermot Mulroney), just in town visiting, was outside with paramedics Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Novak (Jocelyn Hudon).

Chicago Fire will also, in the premiere, be writing out Pascal, who left the Windy City behind last season but briefly returned. We’ll have to wait to see how he’s written out — as well as original cast member Joe Miñoso, who’s also exiting the long-running drama early on in the season.

What’s your prediction for the premiere, and what will happen during that fire? Let us know in the comments section below.
