‘Chicago Fire’ Season 15 Premiere Photos: See Dermot Mulroney in His Last Episode

Chicago Fire is about to say goodbye to a major character when it returns for its 15th season premiere on Wednesday, October 7. That will be Dermot Mulroney‘s last episode as Dom Pascal, 51’s former battalion chief. He’s also one of the few characters we knew was safe from the major cliffhanger at the end of the Season 14 finale. NBC has now released photos from the premiere, titled “New Blood,” and we get a glimpse of him at the scene of that fire.

Of the members of 51 we’ve been worried about all season — most of the house was either inside or right outside the building on a ladder when the fire got out of control — we do have photographic evidence that Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) is safe. Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Ballard (Leroy Williams III) are also pictured on the ladder.

The rest of the images, which you can check out below, show the firehouse, but only the new candidates — Joe Eichorst as Jansen, K.C. McNeil as Hollis, Matthew Daddario as McCaffrey, and Da’Vinchi as Marcus Burke. We’ll have to see how they fit in — and how what looks like some drama among them might affect that.

“Every character, I feel like goes through a ring of fire to be accepted by the family. It’s like a mafia family. I think the probies are a really fun, exciting addition to the show. Our show feels huge right now in a really fun way,” Hanako Greensmith (paramedic Violet) told TV Insider. “There are so many exciting new people; both onscreen and offscreen feels really alive right now. I think the probies bring about a lot of fresh story that the audience has not seen, and it brings out a lot of variety and emotional capacity for so many different characters. I don’t think it’s going to go the way that people anticipate, and there’s something really fun about that.”
