Only a one-dollar wager allowed a Jeopardy! contestant to win the game. The final boozy question made one person victorious.

Rian Robertson, from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, returned for his second game on October 2 with a one-day total of $16,100. On Friday, the software developer played against Adam Bundy, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Arjun Nageswaran, from Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Warning: Spoilers for the Friday, October 2, episode of Jeopardy! ahead!

The beginning of the game was close, with all three men taking the lead and then falling back. By the first 15 clues, Nageswaran, a PhD student, had the lead with $2,600.

Bundy, an advertising partnerships manager, found the Daily Double on clue 16. He was in second place with $1,800 and wagered all of his money.

The clue in “From ‘A’ to ‘Y'” read, “The trachea, or a route for a 747.” “What is an airway?” he answered correctly. Bundy moved into first place with $3,200.

By the end of the round, Bundy had $5,800. Nageswaran was in second place with $3,200. Robertson had $1,000.

In Double Jeopardy, Nageswaran found the first DD on clue nine. He moved into first place with $6,400. The game show contestant wagered $3,000 in “Geographic Names.”

The clue was “While under German occupation from 1884 to 1916, this African country’s name was spelled with a ‘K’ & a ‘U’, not a ‘C’ & 2 ‘O’s.”  He guessed “What is Cameroon?” and was correct. This put him even more into the lead with $9,400.

Bundy found the last DD on clue 19. He was in third place with $6,600, but it was a tighter game now, as Nageswaran, as the leader, had $7,800.

He wagered $3,500 in “Diplomacy.” The clue read,”Austria’s Count von Trauttmansdorff got to know this German region over years negotiating the 1648 peace of it.”

“What is Westphalia?” Bundy answered correctly. He took the lead with $10,100.

By the end of the round, Bundy had $11,700. Nageswaran was in second place with $9,800. Robertson had $9,000.

“We’ve got a very tight game heading into Final Jeopardy,” host Ken Jennings said.

The category for Final Jeopardy was “Colonial America.” The clue read, “After his malt house went bankrupt, he found his calling as a firebrand who kept ‘citizens awake to their grievances.'”

Robertson had the correct response of “Who is Sam Robertson?” He wagered $801, giving him $9,801. This made him $1 ahead of Nageswaran. He did not have the correct response, though, and answered: “Who is Patrick Henry?” Nageswaran wagered all of his money, ending him with $0.

Bundy also did not have the correct response. “Who is Williams?” he wrote. After wagering $8,300, Bundy dropped to $3,400.

This made Robertson a two-day champion with a total of $25,901. He will return on Monday for game three.
