‘The View’s Joy Behar Mocks President Trump’s IQ During AI Discussion

Joy Behar is not holding back. The View host mocked President Donald Trump‘s I.Q. and spelling abilities during the most recent episode of the talk show. The hosts discussed the dangers of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how the current administration is not placing any restrictions on it.

The second Hot Topic on Thursday, September 24 had to do with the CEOS of OpenAI and Anthropic, who spoke at the United Nations about the future of the world with AI. They both said AI is a risk to humanity and that “no leader or country can manage it alone.”

Trump shared that the U.S. has to “win AI,” and he is meeting with the leader of China, the country’s biggest rival when it comes to developing AI. Sara Haines expressed her concerns about the tool, saying, “We should be taking this risk of AI as seriously as nuclear materials. We need to make sure that humans will always stay in control. We don’t need to be risking complete annihilation to put some basic safeguards in place.”

Behar interrupted her, saying, “We also need leaders who have more than a double-digit IQ.” Some of her cohosts laughed while others kept serious expressions.

Lisa Ling, who filled in for Whoopi Goldberg on Thursday, said it is serious when the heads of AI companies are asking it to be regulated. “Then, we have a president who is calling that a hoax. How do you not take that seriously? We have leaders who are pressuring us to be on this race, but the race itself could lead to catastrophe,” she said.

Alyssa Farah Griffin said she is worried that the administration is letting the AI companies go at a rapid pace without any regulation. Sunny Hostin chimed in to say cybersecurity, nuclear war, bio weaponry, and biological warfare are at risk.

“For President Trump to say this is a hoax tells you everything you need to know about him,” she said. “He cares more about the billions of dollars that he has milked from this government and from the American people than he cares about the American people.”

As the show went to commercial, the hosts all talked over each other to try to get their points across. However, Behar got one last dig at the president. “Trump needs to learn how to spell ChatGPT first,” she said, spurring a laugh from the audience.
