Trump Unleashes Wild Midnight Rant at ‘Sleazebag’ Kaitlan Collins & CNN

President Donald Trump launched a late-night tirade on Truth Social on Tuesday (September 22), attacking CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins after she dared to ask him a question at the United Nations headquarters.

In the unhinged post, shared just before midnight, the president referred to Collins as a “sleazebag” and accused her of being a “truly unhappy person” with a “Trump addiction.” This came after he noticed Collins was among the reporters peppering him with questions as he arrived for the U.N. meeting on Tuesday.

“All of the SLEAZEBAGS, like Third Rate “Reporter,” Kaitlan Collins, of Fake News CNN, a truly unhappy person, said they weren’t going to be covering me,” Trump wrote in his post. “Then why were they ranting and raving like Lunatics, in the Press Area, at the United Nations? Why was she there?”

He added, “She’s got a “TRUMP” addiction, and so does CNN and MSDNC. They’re all sick, treasonous, and demented! The “good news” is that they have a great, for them, and totally disloyal Judge.”

Trump announced on Friday (September 18) that he was banning CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House. In a Truth Social post, he warned, “Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow.” On Saturday (September 19), reporters from those three outlets had the Secret Service take away their press credentials.

The president was surprised to see CNN represented at the U.N. headquarters in spite of the ban. “I’m surprised that CNN is here covering me. You shouldn’t be here!” Trump said as he and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at the building, per Mediaite.

Collins responded, “The United Nations allowed us in, sir.”

“You should not be here covering me,” Trump continued. “You said you weren’t going to cover me; you shouldn’t be covering me.”

Collins later appeared on Anderson Cooper 360°, where she made it clear that CNN never said it wasn’t going to cover Trump. “The president himself there was saying something that CNN has never asserted about not covering him. We’ve never said that,” she stated.

“The president is the one who’s trying to dictate how we cover him,” Collins added. “And of course, it is still our job to do so.”

This isn’t the first time Trump has personally attacked Collins. Last December, he called the CNN host “stupid” and “nasty,” and at a February press conference, he said he’s never seen her smile. Earlier this month, he wrote that Collins is a “very dumb and unhappy fake news reporter.” He also insulted her at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in July.
