‘AGT’: Who Is Nene Royal? Get to Know the Talented Season 21 Contestant

We’ve reached finale week on America’s Got Talent, which means there are just 10 acts left in the competition. They’ll each get one last chance to perform for viewer votes during the September 22 episode.

For four of those acts, it’s been two weeks since their last performances, as they automatically advanced to the Finals after receiving one of the Live Golden Buzzers in the Quarterfinal round. One of those standout stars is Nene Royal, who has become a fan-favorite contestant.

Who is Nene Royal?

Nene is a singer and guitarist who specializes in rock music. “I started playing guitar [when] I was seven and my biggest dream is I really want to be a superstar on tour,” Nene told the judges at her AGT audition. She is mostly self-taught in guitar and has been in two bands.

After receiving four yeses from the judges for her audition, Nene was chosen as one of Howie Mandel‘s Judges’ Callback Round picks. Rather than being selected directly for the Quarterfinals, she had to perform one more time to earn her spot. She was one of four acts that Mandel moved through to the next round.

Now in the Top 44, Nene once again wowed the judges with her next performance, earning Mel B.‘s Live Golden Buzzer. This allowed her to skip the Semifinals and automatically make it to the finale.

What is Nene Royal’s real name?

Nene Royal is just her stage name. Her actual name is Rattikarn Amloy and she grew up with the nickname Praew. It wasn’t until she turned 12 that she adopted her stage name.
