Jennifer Eckhart Dies: Former Fox News Producer Was 36

Former Fox News associate producer Jennifer Eckhart has died by suicide. The TV news producer was 36 years old.

News of Eckhart’s death was confirmed by TMZ, and the outlet reported that Eckhart died in Florida, per a rep of the Martin County Medical Examiner’s Office. Law enforcement shared with the outlet that the case had been ruled a suicide, although no additional details were provided.

Eckhart’s Hobe Sound home was surrounded by police after she was allegedly found dead in her home on Saturday morning. Eckhart previously worked at Fox News and became widely known after she accused former Fox News anchor Ed Henry of rape in 2020.

At the time, Eckhart had alleged that Henry had sexually assaulted her while they were both working at the news network and claimed she feared that he had the power to destroy her career. Ultimately, Henry denied the accusations and maintained that their relationship had been consensual.

By July 2020, Henry had been fired by Fox News after receiving Eckhart’s complaint, and an internal investigation had been conducted. But despite that ruling, Eckhart’s legal battle with the case stretched on for years until her claims against Henry were settled in 2024, just before the case would have gone to trial.

Eckhart also took on Fox News in the lawsuit and accused the network of failing to protect her from Henry and discipline him appropriately for the alleged conduct. Those claims were dismissed, and a federal appeals court upheld that decision as recently as April 2025, in which it was cited that Fox didn’t know about Henry’s alleged misconduct before Eckhart came forward with allegations.

When Eckhart spoke publicly about the allegations, she claimed she’d been “paralyzed by fear” while working at Fox. Eckhart had a large social media following with 100,000 followers on Instagram, but her presence had dwindled in the last few months, with her most recent post shared on June 1 of this year.

“Haven’t posted since the last time gas was under $4. What a time to be alive. Glad to be sharing this weird little corner of the Internet again. Working on some exciting stuff that I can’t wait to share with you all!” Eckhart wrote alongside an image of herself.
