‘Ride or Die’: What Would Have Happened in Season 2?

Ride or Die has been canceled after one season at Prime Video, and while the title is searching for a new home, the series’ fate remains uncertain, leading us to wonder what would have happened if Season 2 were greenlit.

Thankfully, we have some ideas from series creator Tessa Coates, whom we caught up with during Season 1’s run. As fans know, the action-packed dramedy followed secret assassin Judith (Hannah Waddingham) and her bestie Debbie (Octavia Spencer), who managed to escape the threats against them to set out on a new adventure in Season 1’s final moments.

But as teased, danger loomed with the threat of the Director (Bill Nighy); it seemed like a continuation was in store for the show, but Coates suggested that there’d be all-new big bads. “Each season should be its own fun, totally new chapter, new bad guys, new everything,” she’d explained, adding at the time, “We’ve got some exciting ideas.”

In addition to Judith and Debbie, there was the younger Queenie (Savannah Steyn) who had joined the agency, eager to tear it down from the inside. If Season 2 were to happen, Coates said, “We definitely are very excited about Queenie. We’re very excited about what that looks like if she works at the agency. Does she become a kickass assassin, like what’s gonna happen to her?”

It was also teased toward the end of the season that she’s the biological daughter of the Director, so what impact that would have had remained to be seen if the show carried on.
