‘Line of Fire’ & ‘The Voice’ Season 30 on NBC, ‘Sunny’ Goes Gilligan, a New York Story

Line of Fire

The network has high hopes for this starry drama about a family of law enforcers, led by Peter Krause, who trades his 9-1-1 firefighter gear for the suit and tie of a Secret Service agent. He stars as Mike Hollingsworth, who’s about to retire — though, given the rules of TV, he probably won’t — and is handing the reins to his bad-boy son Micah (Tommy O’Brien), also with the Secret Service. Also serving the public: Mike’s estranged wife, Jane (Hope Davis), a U.S. Marshal who ropes their FBI agent daughter, Clare (Kat Cunning), into her latest case. And just starting out at the Department of Justice: their son Russ (Taylor Bloom), who’d just as soon his dad keep an arm’s distance. Theirs isn’t the closest of families, and when they gather for an awkward dinner to meet Clare’s boyfriend, let’s just say it’s not as harmonious as the gatherings on Blue Bloods and Boston Blue.

The Voice

Giving Line of Fire a sturdy lead-in, the Emmy-winning singing competition returns for a milestone 30th season, with new star power from Queen Latifah and country music’s Riley Green as first-time coaches. They join veteran coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson in their search for the next great voice, starting with the ever-popular Blind Auditions round. This year, there’s a “First in Button” twist in which the coach who turns their chair around first gets the chance to claim a singer as their own, but they can only use it once.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Conspiracy theories boil over in the kooky comedy as Mac (Rob Mac) and Charlie (Charlie Day) pay homage to 1960s cult classic Gilligan’s Island by speculating why the series fell just short of the magic number of 100 episodes. Their brainstorm: find a living heir of series creator Sherwood Schwartz and pitch a final 100th episode. (The movies don’t count as canon, they insist.) Cue the fantasy dream sequences, with Charlie as Gilligan, Mac as the Captain, and the others as “the rest.”

New York: A Documentary Film

A docuseries that continues to evolve along with its iconic subject, Ric Burns’ epic history of New York City returns with two new episodes (concluding Tuesday), profiling the ever-changing metropolis in the quarter-century since 9/11. The series premiered in 1999, with a special epilogue produced in 2003 focusing on the World Trade Center in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks. The new episodes, titled “Shadows of the Past” and “The Future of Cities,” were filmed over the last decade with narration by Robert Sean Leonard, taking over from the late David Ogden Stiers. Interview subjects include former New York mayors David Dinkins (who died in 2020), Michael Bloomberg, Bill de Blasio, and Eric Adams.

Celebrity Weakest Link

They dished it out, but can they take it? We’ll find out when eight of reality TV’s most manipulative and colorful villains subject themselves to host Jane Lynch‘s withering scorn in the Season 2 premiere of the quiz show’s celebrity edition. Participating with such icons of the genre as Survivor‘s Richard Hatch, The Apprentice‘s Omarosa, Vanderpump Rules‘ Tom Sandoval, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen, 90 Day Fiancé‘s Big Ed, Real Housewives‘ Monica Garcia, Selling Sunset‘s Christine Quinn, and Flavor of Love‘s Tiffany Pollard. Earlier in the evening, a new season of Name That Tune (8/7c) kicks off with rap legend and Law & Order: SVU star Ice-T challenging skateboard master Tony Hawk in a game of music trivia.

INSIDE MONDAY TV:

• The Price Is Right (CBS, check local listings): Drew Carey marks his 20th year as host of the venerable game show, launching its 55th season. Also new: Let’s Make a Deal, starting its 18th season with Wayne Brady as host.
• The Quick Draw McGraw Show (5:30 pm/4:30c, MeTV Toons): The Hanna-Barbera classic, not available for decades on free broadcast TV, joins the daily lineup. Also new to MeTV Toons: Sonic the Hedgehog (8 am/7c, Monday to Friday) and Heathcliff (4:30 pm/3:30c).
• All American (8/7c, The CW): In the series’ penultimate episode, KJ (Nathaniel Logan McIntyre) goes all out at the Beverly and Crenshaw showcase, while Cassius (Osy Ikhile) and Ava (Angel Parker) fret over his future.
• Monday Night Football (8 pm/ET, ABC and ESPN): The New York Giants face the Super Bowl favorites Los Angeles Rams.
• High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam (9/8c, TNT): The docudrama continues with CIA analyst John Nixon (Joel Kinnaman) in hostile territory, running for his life after his encounter with Saddam Hussein (Waleed Zuaiter).

ON THE STREAM:

• Futurama (streaming on Hulu): It’s an animated fantasy crossover when Fry is transported sideways through time in Professor Farnsworth’s time machine, landing in the medieval world of Matt Groening‘s Netflix series Disenchantment, with guest voices including Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon, Sharon Horgan, and Eric André.
• Tuner (streaming on Paramount+): The 2025 thriller makes its streaming debut, starring Leo Woodall (The White Lotus) as a piano tuner whose heightened sense of hearing makes him useful to a criminal gang of safecrackers, with Dustin Hoffman co-starring as his mentor.
