MS NOW host Stephanie Ruhle and her guest panel were thrown off track on Thursday’s (September 17) live episode of Money, Power, Politics, due to a funny question from an unexpected guest.
“We always end this show on good news because we think good news rules,” Stephanie said towards the end of the show. “And today, the best news, my mother, Louise Ruhle, is in our studio audience because we’re in New Jersey.”
The news anchor then asked her mom if she had a question for the panel. “Yeah, I have a question for you especially,” Louise quipped.
“Not for me! For my team here,” Stephanie replied.
Louise then posed a question to her daughter and guests, including former Chicago mayor and U.S. ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel, during which she made a funny mispronunciation.

“The country’s definitely going sideways. And it didn’t just start yesterday. Where are we headed?” Louise asked, per Mediaite. “And I’m not talking about parties; I’m talking about the direction of this country because it’s not going in a good direction. No how, no way.”
She then touched on the panel’s big discussion topic of the day, which revolved around the threat of artificial intelligence. “And you people are talking very high things,” Louise said. “I.A, a lot of people don’t know all about I.A., they’re living in the…”
“She means A.I.,” Stephanie interrupted as the studio audience broke into laughter.
“The point is, we’re living every day, and it’s very confusing, in general,” Louise continued. “There are a lot of things the hierarchy is in charge of, and the guys down here are not relating to it at all.”
After the audience applauded Louise’s question, Stephanie turned to Emanuel and quipped, “I.A., it’s the new A.I.”
“I just learned a lot about you,” Emanuel responded, drawing more laughter from the audience.
Emanuel went on to give a proper answer, saying those in charge are often too concerned with restoring the past. “[In] fairness is we’ve had two presidents back to back, both parties, who are trying to restore a past that’s never coming back,” he stated. “This country is ready to focus on a future that includes everybody and is related to either A.I. or I.A., either one of them.”
