Food Network‘s Ree Drummond is officially a grandmother of two.
The Pioneer Woman star shares five kids — Alex, Paige, Bryce, Todd, and Jamal — with her husband, Ladd Drummond. She became a first-time grandparent in December 2024 with the birth of Alex’s daughter, Sofia, whom she shares with her husband, Mauricio Scott. Back in March, Alex announced that she and Scott were expecting their second child.
In a Wednesday, September 16, blog post, Ree announced that Alex had given birth to baby No. 2, a baby boy named Charles “Charlie” Scott. “What a happy 24 hours it’s been! I drove down to Dallas Monday night to stay with Sofia so that Alex and Mauricio could check into the hospital Tuesday morning,” she wrote. “By Tuesday evening…their family of three was updated to a family of four!
Ree said Ladd was just as excited as she was to meet their grandson. “And the fact that the baby is named after his dad made it that much more special,” she gushed, adding, “I said this when Sofia was born, but it just doesn’t seem possible that our first baby is having babies of her own. Especially considering the fact that we are only 34 years old. I demand a recount! As for Mauricio… let’s just say he’s ready! And just like that, he is no longer outnumbered in his house. Ha!”

Ree noted that she was “so proud” of her daughter and her son-in-law. “They work together so beautifully when it comes to important life moments. They’re a self-contained unit, and it’s really fun to see,” she said. “I have many many more photos to share! Paige and I took Sofia to meet her baby brother late this afternoon, and it was both precious and chaotic. And of course, I have many more gorgeous pics of little Charlie.”
She concluded the post by writing, “Thank God for this little guy!”
Alex, for her part, posted several photos of her newborn son via Instagram on Wednesday. “Charles Alexander Scott. 09/15/2026. 7lbs 9oz,” she shared. “Our Charlie boy made his arrival yesterday evening and we couldn’t be more in love! Thank you Lord.”
Fans congratulated Alex and Mauricio in the post’s comments, with one user writing, “He looks JUST like his daddy!!!” Another added, “Congratulations! Charlie is beautiful!” Someone else shared, “Yay! Been checking Instagram the past 2 days for this. Big congrats to the entire family. I hope Sofia will adore him.”

Alex also shared several adorable snaps of Sofia meeting her baby brother for the first time in the hospital. “Our little family,” she lovingly captioned the Thursday, September 17, upload. “Just living all of our wildest dreams right here!”
Ree shared a sweet message in the post’s comments, writing, “My very favorite family of four. Sofia’s smile in that first pic is just…the best thing I’ve ever seen.” In a comment of her own, Paige gushed, “Sofia is a big sister!!! The sweetest thing ever.”
