‘General Hospital’ Casts Blythe Howard as Monet, a Lawyer With an ‘Unexpected Connection’

General Hospital is welcoming another new face, TV Insider can report exclusively. Blythe Howard will make her daytime debut on Wednesday, September 23 as Monet, a savvy lawyer.

Monet arrives in town as a litigator who recently joined Miller & Davis, the firm run by Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and meets with a Port Charles resident in need of legal counsel.

A native of Washington state, Howard originally envisioned a career in broadcast journalism. While attending Washington State University, she won a nationwide contest to appear as a VJ for a day on MTV’s Total Request Live. That experience changed the course of her life, prompting her to leave WSU to study acting in San Francisco. She eventually made the move to Los Angeles, where she booked her first commercial within a week of arriving.

Her television credits include Yellowstone, Power Book IV: Force, Walker, 9-1-1: Lone Star, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Dynasty and Silicon Valley. Her early interest in journalism came full circle when played a recurring news anchor in David Fincher‘s Mindhunter during its second season on Netflix in 2019.

In 2022, Howard’s life took another unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with cancer. She continued pursuing her acting career throughout treatment, balancing auditions, bookings, and time on set while navigating the challenges of cancer and chemotherapy.

Following her recovery, Howard and her sister, Kelsey Howard, cofounded Chemo Queens, a survivor-founded company that creates products for people undergoing cancer treatment, including a patent-pending cold cap design.

Howard’s GH casting marks the latest newcomer to join the Port Charles canvas in recent months. She joins Alimi Ballard (William Baines), Jonathan Bennett (Joe Fitzpatrick), Kearran Giovanni (Dr. Nichols), Dean Geyer (Tristan Roberts), Kelly Kruger (Serena Baldwin), Kayden Brennan Tokarski (Scout Cain) and Troy Lennon Appel (Hudson Parker).
