Whoopi Goldberg Stops ‘The View’s Live Audience From Booing Ted Cruz
The View‘s Season 30 return is now in full swing, and moderator Whoopi Goldberg‘s first order of business on Wednesday’s (September 9) show was to shut down booing of the day’s guest, Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
As Goldberg introduced the lineup for the day, referencing his planned participation in the upcoming RNC convention headlined by Donald Trump, the audience began to boo, and Goldberg nipped that in the bud straight away.
“No, no, no, no. You know what? Look, this is a place where Barbara Walters made sure that anybody who wanted to come and have a good conversation could come,” she said in response to the detracting rumbles. “We want people to come, and we want to engage them. We don’t agree with them always. We don’t. We don’t gel with them always, but we are respectful, and I know you will be, too. I know you will be, because sometimes stuff, it’s like a burp, it comes out… so just swallow it back down.”
After the first commercial break, the cohosts welcomed Cruz onto the show, and there was light applause from the crowd and no boos.

From there, the conversation opened on a colorful note, as Joy Behar prompted him to respond to Donald Trump’s approval ratings being “lower than [her] boobs,” and Cruz admitted that the midterms are going to be tough for the party. “I think Trump is trying to motivate Republicans, and I would also say, like my state of Texas, I would just say the common sense middle, regular people to come out and vote. If they show up, I feel a lot better about the election. If they don’t, if it’s just the people who are angry, then I think it’ll be a blue wave.”
Cruz was also challenged on the rising costs of goods for Americans as a result of the Iran War, asking him to grade the president on his economic results. When he was pressed to name a letter and chose “A,” there were some audible groans from the crowd, but very few.

Cruz was also challenged on how the Iran War would be successfully concluded, his concerns and actions in response to recent reports about artificial intelligence being a threat to humanity, and more.

Cancun Cruz deserves to be booed. I'm a Texan, and I will never forget freezing in my home and boiling snow to flush my toilet while he whisked his family to Mexico, deserting his constituents in time of need. He is a coward.
