‘The View’: Whoopi Goldberg Has One Demand of JD Vance Before 2028 Presidential Run
The cohosts of The View (minus, still, Joy Behar) reacted to JD Vance‘s controversial interview in which he sidestepped a question about his reaction to Donald Trump and his family’s financial gains from his presidency and his half-hearted prediction that Trump would endorse him if he decided to run in 2028.
In response, Whoopi Goldberg issued a direct request to Vance before he even considers a presidential run. “I’m just going to make this suggestion, and maybe I’m wrong to do that, but I really want him to read the Constitution. If he’s going to run for president, I want him to read the Constitution. I want him to understand what it means,” she said. “They went after [Joe] Biden. They said his kid made $20 million as opposed to the $400 million that other people have made and the $2 billion that You Know Who is supposed to have made.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin then commented that Vance “is kidding himself if he thinks Trump’s going to endorse him early on and outright.” The former Trump administration member, who worked directly with Mike Pence, added, “I’m very acquainted with former Trump VPs, and there’s no chance that’s happening. Donald Trump is going to drag out endorsing anyone as long as humanly possible just for the pure bloodsport of it, to purely make them grovel, beg, and plead if he ever endorses anyone anyway.” She added that Vance’s historic unpopularity speaks to his “authenticity problem,” explaining, “Is he the Hillbilly Elegy guy? Is he the diehard never Trump guy who said he could be America’s next Hitler before walking that back? Is he the diehard MAGA guy now, or the ones who’s toying with conspiracy theories and trying to play to the farthest right base?”
Ana Navarro responded to Vance’s suggestion that he hasn’t seen evidence of Trump cashing in on his presidency, saying, “You want evidence of corruption? Just take a look at the donors for the ballroom for Donald Trump’s obsessive ballroom.”
She went on to predict, “I think he’s going to carry the stench of Trump with him for the rest of his life.”
