Sopranos star Dominic Chianese recently launched a major career venture at 95: a podcast.

During an interview with People, the actor who played Corrado “Uncle Junior” Soprano and his son, Dominic Chianese Jr., 62, opened up about starting the podcast, Dominic & Jr., which premiered on YouTube on September 1.

“To be honest with you, I was a little frightened because I thought millions of people are going to hear what’s coming out of my mouth. That’s serious stuff,” Chianese Sr. admitted. “And [my son] said, ‘Don’t worry, Pop, everything’s OK.’ But he’s got a fresh head and he loves to talk.”

Meanwhile, Chianese Jr. explained that his father “wanted to work still” after several years between acting roles. (Per IMDb, the last TV series he appeared in was The Village in 2019 and two shorts — one in 2019 and another in 2025.)

“The thing is, I’ve heard these stories,” the actor’s son shared. “But documenting them is wonderful just because I know it’s there for posterity, and somewhat of a legacy. My son’s children will be able to watch it. That’s what I think is the most rewarding part of it.”

The podcast has also allowed Chianese Sr. to look back on his career.

“I’m 95 now. I’ve been thinking a lot about [legacy], especially since I’m going to be talking to millions of people, who are going to hear what I’m saying,” he explained. “I want the legacy to be just that people realize art is based on discipline, and that’s very important.”

Aside from The Sopranos, Chianese Sr. is known for playing Johnny Ola in The Godfather Part II and Leander Whitlock in Boardwalk Empire. He also has notable credits in Dog Day Afternoon (1975), All the President’s Men (1976), and And Justice for All (1979).

The Sopranos aired for six seasons from 1999 to 2007. In addition to Chianese, it starred James Gandolfini, Steven Van Zandt, Michael Imperioli, Edie Falco, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Lorraine Bracco, Joe Pantoliano, Tony Sirico, Robert Iler, Aida Turturro, Drea de Matteo, Steve Schirripa, and more.

The first episode of Dominic & Junior premiered on September 1 on YouTube.

My first thought when I saw his picture in this article is that he looks like a grumpy version of the old guy (Mr. Six) from the Six Flags commercials in the mid-2000's.
