‘Entourage’ Creator Hit Back at Debi Mazar’s ‘Disgusting’ Fat-Shaming Claim
What To Know

Entourage creator Doug Ellin hit back at Debi Mazar following her claims of fat-shaming on set after she gave birth.
In an interview with The Times of London published on August 29, Mazar reflected on her experience starring as publicist Shauna Roberts in eight seasons of the HBO series.
“Season one was a joy-fest,” she shared. “But in the third season, the set was a testosterone-fueled environment. I’m tough, but it got toxic towards the end for me.”
A particularly rough period during her time on Entourage, Mazar claimed, was after she welcomed her second child in 2006. Mazar, 62, and her husband, celebrity TV chef Gabriele Corcos, share two daughters, Evelina, 24, and Giulia, 20.
“I’d had my second baby and they didn’t like that I got fat, even though I got skinny again,” she alleged. “It was complicated because I’m outspoken and never held back my discontent. But I always was professional and I’m grateful I was on it. It was a lot of fun, until it wasn’t.”
My thoughts are this is disgusting. Never, ever did myself or anyone that matters care or discuss Debi Mazar’s body. I would one million percent embrace any woman who got pregnant. In response to the body-shaming accusation, Ellin, 58, took to X to boldly rebuke the claim. The Entourage creator also wrote, directed, and executive produced the series.
“My thoughts are this is disgusting,” he declared. “Never, ever did myself or anyone that matters care or discuss Debi Mazar’s body. I would one million percent embrace any woman who got pregnant. The only bodies on the show I ever commented on were Adrian’s (I wanted him more muscular) and @jerryferrara who I wanted fatter.”
Ellin concluded, “I will forever feel bad about that because I didn’t realize the health implications at the time and now couldn’t be happier for Jerry’s transformation.”
Inspired by Mark Wahlberg‘s rise to fame, Entourage followed a young movie star, Vincent (Adrian Grenier), as he and his friends from Queens navigated Hollywood. In addition to Mazar as his publicist, Vincent’s “entourage” included his manager, Eric “E” Murphy (Kevin Connolly), his brother and struggling actor, Johnny “Drama” Chase (Kevin Dillon), his chauffeur and personal assistant, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara), and his fast-talking agent, Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven).
Entourage aired for eight seasons from 2004 to 2011; the cast also reunited for a film of the same name in 2015.
