‘The Challenge’ Sneak Peek: T.J. Lavin Plays a Cruel Trick on Team Orange

There’s only one thing T.J. Lavin hates more than a quitter on The Challenge: a cheater. So, in last week’s two-part premiere event, when Team Orange bent the rules in an effort to win, the longtime host was thrilled … to disqualify them.

So, has the team learned a lesson from that mistake just yet?

Well, in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek at Wednesday’s (August 12) new episode (embedded above), that’s the big question for team members Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, Chris “C.T.” Tamburello, Tori Deal, Michele Fitzgerald, Izzy Fairthorne, Justin Hinsley, Will Gagnon, and Deb Chubb.

“I’ve said it time and time again: Nobody likes cheaters, right?” T.J. tells the trio of waiting teams after the daily challenge.

After Tori exclaims, “What the f…” and the rest of the team stares in disbelief, T.J. then finishes his thought.

“Orange Team, today, you proved you don’t have to cheat to win. Absolute savages.” Now that’s a dirty little trick!

With that, this week’s cocaptains of the team, Johnny Bananas and Deb, gain the power to decide who will face one another from the second- and third-place teams in the arena.

T.J. then turns to Team Grey, which placed second, and antagonizes them a bit over having a “taste of defeat” after two straight wins, and Cory Wharton clarifies, “Well, we got a taste of second, so could be better, but, yeah.”

Cory and cocaptain Nurys Mateo will have to choose someone to possibly go into elimination, while the rest of the team will have to decide on the second contender.

As for Team Blue, the undeniable underdogs at this point, their fate is in Johnny and Deb’s hands, which is probably the very last place they want to be, judging by their faces.

We will have to wait and see exactly how Team Orange manages to pull out this clutch victory, as well as who gets thrown into the proving grounds this time, when the next episode of The Challenge arrives on Paramount+ on Wednesday.
