Chad Powers Season 2 looms on the horizon after making a splash last fall on Hulu, and showrunner Michael Waldron is hinting at what’s to come with a recent social media post.

The image reveals Russ Holliday (Glen Powell) back in his Chad Powers disguise as he dons his football helmet once again. As viewers will recall, Season 1 introduces Russ as a washed-up footballer who has squandered his career with a faux pas on the field. Realising his face is holding him back, Russ is inspired by Mrs. Doubtfire and prosthetics made by his father to relaunch his career under a different name and look.

Trying out for an open spot on the South Georgia Catfish, Chad manages to earn the coveted quarterback position and wins over the coach, Jake Hudson (Steve Zahn), and even assistant coach Ricky (Perry Mattfeld) for a little while. By the end of Season 1, though, Ricky has learned his secret and at the potential cost of her father, Coach Hudson’s life.

She threatens to expose his secret, but Russ argues that exposing him as Chad would only hurt the team, which had made a major comeback with his help, and required that success to maintain its standing and Coach Hudson’s role. As we gear up for Season 2, we can’t help but wonder if Russ will reveal his true identity, even if it’s just to a few other people surrounding the team.

Waldron’s photo, above, teases Russ still wearing his disguise, which means he’s not giving up the Chad persona for now. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be found out, as he’s sure to face more threats as the lie about his true self stretches. Will he be found out, or will he come clean of his own accord? Only time will tell. We’re asking fans to share where they stand when it comes to Russ Holliday’s lie in our poll below, and stay tuned for more on Chad Powers Season 2 as we approach the fall.
