HGTV’s ‘Totally ’90s House’: Who’s Competing, First Look, Premiere Date & More
HGTV is bringing beloved 1990s stars together to compete in a new home renovation competition called Totally ’90s House. The new series will split actors and singers from the ’90s into two teams who will be tasked with searching for and renovating a house from that era.
Not only will the stars have to modernize the home, but they’ll also have to make sure to preserve the charm of the residences as they compete against one another throughout the six-episode show. The series premiere will follow the teams as they “tour their fill of valance window treatments, heavy carpets and curved staircases before choosing which off the hook house their team will renovate,” per the show’s description.”
So, when does this new series premiere and who will be competing? Scroll down for everything we know.
Who is competing on Totally ’90s House?
The first team is Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills 90210), Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven), and Jodie Sweetin (Full House). They’ll compete against Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All), Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show), Matthew Lawrence (Boy Meets World), and Joey Lawrence (Blossom).
The series will be hosted by Jaleel White from Family Matters. “Everybody loves the ‘90s again,” he teased. “The fits are back, the playlists are on repeat, and kids who weren’t even born yet are binge-watching the shows we made famous. But while some things from the ‘90s are timeless…some of y’all never got the memo that the decade ended.”
HGTV stars Carter Oosterhouse and Sabrina Soto will be assisting the competitors throughout the series.
When does Totally ’90s House premiere?
The show premieres on Wednesday, August 26, at 9/8c on HGTV. It will run for six weeks.
Is there a first look at Totally ’90s House?
In a sneak peek of the series, shared by Decider on July 29, White gives the competitors a rundown of some of the show’s rules. “You each spent the decade of the ‘90s in everyone’s living rooms. Now, you’re about to completely transform someone else’s,” he states. “If you want to communicate or capture anything on video, you’ll have to do it the old fashion way, using only what’s inside these boxes.”
Among the boxes’ items are old tech items such as VHS tapes, a handheld camera, and more. “I can’t use my smartphone? Because I didn’t agree to that,” White quips in a confessional.
In a confessional of her own, Mitchell says what’s “really special” about the show’s cast is that they “have a shared life experience that nobody else understands.”
The first look goes on to show the teams tour potential homes to renovate. The properties appear frozen in time with furnishings such as patterned couches and window curtains, colored carpet, and a jacuzzi tub.
“I think the comeback potential is huge,” Hart tells her team at the end of the clip.

Who are the Totally ’90s House judges?
Familiar faces from HGTV will be judging the different rounds of competition. Fellow 90s icon Drew Lachey, who recently competed on Rock the Block is among the judges.
The other judges include Paige Davis of Trading Spaces, designer Jonathan Adler, Mina Starsiak Hawk, Vern Yip, Brian Kleinschmidt and Mika Kleinschmidt.
What does the winner of Totally ’90s House get?
Bragging rights are what’s really at stake here, but the winning team will also earn $25,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

and why is joey not in the picture of his team of 4? i ASSUME something happens where he comes late or leaves early or tag teams his brother but i COMPLETELY agree with you that it's not only odd it's 4 against 3 but also that one isn't in the picture..i feel like melissa and joey have done a few sitcoms together too, so like doubling up on related child actor stars
