Why Jenny & Dave Marrs’ Kids Won’t Appear on HGTV as Much Anymore
What To Know
- Jenny and Dave Marrs revealed that their children will appear less frequently on Fixer to Fabulous.

- In a recent interview with TV Insider, Jenny and Dave teased the projects fans will see during the new season.
According to Jenny Marrs, Season 8 of Fixer to Fabulous may look a little bit different than past seasons.
Over the years, Jenny and Dave Marrs have welcomed HGTV viewers into their family’s Arkansas home. While the show mainly focuses on Jenny and Dave’s renovation projects for clients, it also documents the couple’s home life with their five kids, Nathan, Ben, Sylvie, Charlotte, and Luke.
In an interview with Realtor.com published on Monday, July 13, Jenny revealed that it is actually quite “annoying” to have a camera crew in their home. “I wish we had a show home. Wouldn’t that be nice to have, like, the fake house that we only went and filmed in and then we had our real house?” she quipped. “Most people, even if you work from home, you can still have a little bit of separation of work and life, and we have none.”
Dave added, “We can’t segment off just one little section of our house when they’re shooting.”
In addition to not wanting to film at home as much, Jenny said the pair’s kids have also expressed a desire to remain off-screen more often. “We have three teenagers now, one preteen, and then Luke’s 7, so they’ve just grown up around it. But now they’re like, ‘We don’t want to be on camera,'” she explained, noting that fans “won’t see as much of the kids” on the show’s upcoming eighth season.

She continued, “Luke doesn’t mind and Char doesn’t mind, but the bigs are like, ‘Yeah, no, we’re not going to be on camera,’ and we never would force them to be on camera. … Some days, the kids will come home from school and our house has a bunch of cameras, and so it’s a little bit chaotic.”
Their family appearing on TV is something Jenny said comes with the territory of being HGTV stars. “I kind of wish we didn’t do that, but also, that’s part of it,” she said. “We want to be open and authentic. We do want it to be real. We don’t live in a museum. We live in real life. It’s a challenge, for sure.”
Last month, Jenny and Dave announced via Instagram that production was currently underway on Season 8 of Fixer to Fabulous. “This year, we have a lot. We’ve got a lot of projects going on,” Jenny exclusively shared in a recent interview with TV Insider. For Jenny, the “most challenging” project of the season so far has been transforming an airplane hangar into a home for Dave’s brother and his wife.
One project that will be featured in Season 8 has been “two years in the making.” Dave revealed, “We’re doing a coffee shop, where we actually have, it’s in a creek bed. So, we’re elevating the entire structure with the moving company, putting a whole new foundation and piers underneath it.” Jenny added, “We’re not at all close to being finished with it yet, but we will get it done this year. It’ll be done this year.”

I’m soooo happy that season 8 is almost here. Can’t wait!!! I loved seeing your kids but I completely understand that they don’t want to be on camera at their ages now.
