‘American Idol’ What Happened to Chayce Beckham? His Life After Winning the Show

In 2021, Chayce Beckham was named the winner of American Idol Season 19. He auditioned for Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry, then made it through all of the early rounds to move onto the Live Shows, where fans fell in love with him and voted for him to win the show.

Now that it’s been more than five years since the Season 19 finale, we’re checking in on what Beckham is up to today. Scroll down for updates on his career and personal life.

What is Chayce Beckham doing now?

Beckham has continued his music career since his success on American Idol. He released his debut album, Bad for Me, in 2024. His most recent release was the single “Holdin’ You, Lovin’ You” in November 2025, but his new song “Dirt Floor” comes out on July 10.

Throughout spring and summer 2026, Beckham has been on tour. In addition to playing festivals and his own shows, he’s also opening on several of Cody Johnson‘s summer tour dates. He’s also opened for Luke Bryan, Parker McCollum, and more since winning Idol.

In December 2025, Beckham told Country Now that he has plans to release new music in 2026. “I’m really just looking forward to putting a lot of music out next year, kind of consistently putting out new songs and new singles,” he dished.

In the five years since he was on American Idol, Beckham’s most successful song is “23,” which he wrote about his struggles with alcoholism. He actually sang the song during the American Idol finale in 2021, then officially released it as a single in 2023.

Did Chayce Beckham get married?

Yes, Beckham married Ashley Britt in September 2025. They tied the knot in Las Vegas, then celebrated with their loved ones in Nashville a few weeks later.

Beckham and Britt were together off-and-on for 11 years before they got married. “We met years ago, dated for a long time, broke up for a little while, moved to Nashville after the whole Idol thing, and ended up getting back together,” he shared on the Diving in Deep With Sara Evans podcast. “Then we were like, ‘Alright, it’s probably about time we get engaged and have a wedding.'”

At the end of 2025, Beckham and Britt bought a home together. His 2025 single “Holdin’ You, Lovin’ You” is the song he wrote to propose to Britt.

Is Chayce Beckham still sober?

Yes, Beckham has been sober since 2020 when he was arrested for DUI after a near-fatal car accident. The crash took place just two weeks before he auditioned for American Idol and prompted Beckham to turn his life around.

“On the show, I learned how to be myself without all those substances,” Beckham told American Songwriter. “I learned how to address my nerves without those things, and found the same person I was without those crutches or vices by confronting all of those things head-on. So it was a beautiful experience to build myself back up on the show to where I started, and not let those things defeat me.”

He also admitted that “alcohol really did almost destroy my life.”

Does Chayce Beckham have children?

No, Beckham does not have children yet, but he and Britt adopted a rescue puppy named Tater in 2025.
