‘The View’: Sunny Hostin Reacts to White House UFC Fighter’s ‘Derogatory Slur’ About Michelle Obama
On Monday’s (June 15) live show, the cohosts of The View were ecstatic about the New York Knicks’ win in the NBA Finals, especially since they got to interview Jalen Brunson about everything from his record-setting point score. However, there was another sporting event from the weekend that dampened the mood quite a bit.
Though they didn’t spend much time on the “Hot Topic” of Donald Trump‘s birthday UFC event on the White House lawn, Sunny Hostin in particular felt the need to respond to the shocking comment made by fighter Josh Hokit that former first lady Michelle Obama “is a man.”
After moderator Whoopi Goldberg introduced the subject without playing a clip of the statement or repeating his words, Alyssa Farah Griffin went first and declined to discuss it, saying, “Can’t we just focus on the Knicks?!”
However, when it was Hostin’s turn, she decided to talk about it.
“I do want to address the derogatory slur made about the former first lady Michelle Obama, because I think it’s important to address, and we won’t dignify what was said by repeating it, yeah, but you should look it up, and I think the reason that it’s important is because for a long time, and the roots are in slavery, Black women have been slurred and made to feel that they were unattractive, made to feel that they were masculine, made to feel that they didn’t have the femininity that a white woman had,” she said.
She then responded to the reactions that came from the comments, saying, “There’s this intersectionality between race, racism, and sexism that was on full display at the White House. The crowd laughed at the statement, and the president of the United States smirked, and never addressed what was said. That is beneath the dignity of the office of the president of the United States, and it’s beneath the dignity of the American people.”
After Hostin’s comment, Ana Navarro weighed in to add that she boycotted the event. “I don’t do sports, and I’m not a New Yorker, but you all have worn me down. These bitches have been wearing me down. I am now also rooting for the Knicks on Saturday, and I want us to hold on to that feeling of unity and joy and celebration of the best in America, and so I’ll tell you, I didn’t watch one second of that UFC fight, because to me that does not celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. That does not signify America’s best values, and I’ll tell you, he is so obsessed with the Obamas. They live rent-free in their head.” She then said that she would celebrate America’s 250th birthday by watching the livestream of the Obama presidential library’s opening.

I've noticed some commentors on The Right Scoop site say the same about Kaitlin Collins. Both were unfair and unnecessary comments concerning both her and Ms. Obama, that's for sure!

As we know, some people just don't like strong women. I believe they're afraid... strong women make them feel threatened for some reason.

Yeah maybe she’s a little too strong. Barry seems terrified of her Lol ! And wish this site would’ve had the courage to post an article with a transcript of last Friday’s The View. Where the dragon ladies were bashing young men to pieces for turning to God & Faith. They came extremely close to bashing God Himself !in the end tried to paint some weird perverted narrative that by turning to God young men are some how abandoning young women. When you think surely they can go no lower, these Strong women can find a way.
