ABC Fall 2026 Schedule: ‘High Potential’ Moves to Midseason

After renewing its entire scripted lineup, ABC isn’t making too many changes to what works, though there is one significant switch.

The network unveiled its fall 2026 schedule on Tuesday, May 12, and in doing so, it revealed that High Potential is moving to the midseason. R.J. Decker, which premiered in the midseason, is becoming a fall show and joining Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday nights.

“We enter this fall season from a position of undeniable strength,” said President of Disney Television Group Craig Erwich. “Our focus has always been simple: Make the best shows on television and get them to audiences however they want to watch. That strategy continues to drive the success of ABC and Hulu — from legacy hits being embraced by new generations to breakout series becoming the next cultural touchstones. With a standout slate of comedies, dramas, unscripted and live programming, alongside marquee events like the Super Bowl, the College Football Playoff, the Grammys, and the Oscars in 2027, our content engine is firing on all cylinders.”

Most Monday nights will be taken over by ESPN’s Monday Night Football (and it will simulcast with ESPN).

Joining High Potential in the midseason on ABC are returning series The Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise, Shifting Gears, The Rookie, and Will Trent. Plus, The Rookie: North, the new series in the franchise starring Jay Ellis, will also debut then. Exact dates will be announced at a later time, but expect these shows in 2027.

    Great! ABC just cleared my schedule to be able to watch a different a network in the Fall! Since everything I watch on ABC is relegated to mid-season, it'll be much easier for me to watch CBS, NBC or Fox in the Fall. Then I can decide if I want to watch ABC in the Spring or not!

    Annoying that fan favorite aren’t starting until mid-season. Will Trent & High Potential should get EXTRA episodes instead and start in the fall. I will boycott ABC until the Spring

    I see only one night for me and that’s. Thursday. Can’t believe what ABC has done with the fall schedule. Hope Disney looses its tush on this one

    Stupidest plan ever. All the great shows not till mid season. Almost nothing in the fall. This kind of thinking seems prevalent at all the other networks also. Basically going to watch football and streaming movies until at least January. By then, likely won't even care any more. Good Bye network tv. Been nice knowing you. You just gave the business to the streaming services, at least the non network services.

    Wednesday's lineup is good. Football always depends on the match up. I enjoyed High Potential until they went lazy with the obvious office hookup.

    I hate to think of High Potential moving to mid season. It has been shorter than usual. It's bone of my favorites.
