The third season of MGM+’s Billy the Kid is set to ride onto screens for a final outing before the series sets into the sunset, bringing the legendary outlaw’s saga to a dramatic conclusion. After chronicling his rise amid the chaos of the Lincoln County War, the new season promises to deliver the final chapter in Billy’s (Tom Blyth) journey.

The series is a romanticized yet gritty retelling of the life of William H. Bonney, a.k.a. Billy the Kid, played by Tom Blyth, one of the most legendary outlaws of the American West. Blending history with drama to create a riveting narrative about the bandit, Billy the Kid captures the spirit of the Wild West through the characters it creates.

When will Billy the Kid Season 3 premiere? 

Season 3 of Billy the Kid returns September 28 on MGM+ with eight episodes. As with previous seasons, it is expected to air weekly, with one new episode each Sunday through the finale on November 23.

What is Billy the Kid Season 3 about?

Created, written, and executive produced by Michael Hirst, the third season of Billy the Kid picks up following the Lincoln County War, which ended with the murder of John Tunstall (Linus Roache), and the rise of the Regulators.

Billy the Kid (Tom Blyth) and Sheriff Pat Garrett (Alex Roe) have important issues to resolve as Billy is a wanted man, and Garrett is out to capture his foe, dead or alive.

Billy has the opportunity to leave New Mexico altogether and pursue a future with his sweetheart Dulcinea (Nuria Vega), but Billy has unfinished business with Garrett, his former friend who betrayed him.

While Pat and Billy look to put their past to rest, Billy’s longtime rival Jesse Evans (Daniel Webber) remains in Lincoln, a changed man after a tragedy. Evans is now searching for purpose and perhaps forgiveness for his past sins.

As the saga comes to a close, Billy attempts to right past wrongs and find the justice he so desperately seeks, or die trying.

Who stars in Billy the Kid Season 3?

Tom Blyth will be back to play the titular role for the third and final time, and Alex Roe will return to play his historical nemesis, Sheriff Pat Garrett. Daniel Webber is also set to return to the role of Jesse Evens, while Nuria Vega will again play Billy’s love interest, Dulcinea del Tobosco.

Is there a trailer for Billy the Kid Season 3?

Yes. The trailer promises, “One last ride. Where outlaw becomes legend.” The escalating hostility between Billy and Pat is front and center in the trailer as the season barrels towards its ultimate end, in which Billy the Kid becomes a mythic outlaw.
