‘Jaws’ Was Almost Even Scarier: Deleted Scenes Show Bloody, Violent First Cut

I don’t know if the Motion Picture Association’s (MPA) rating system was more lenient in the 1970s, or if audiences were tougher in terms of content they found objectionable for children to see — or both — but it is still kind of crazy to look back at the sorts of movies that were given merely a PG rating back when I was discovering them as a kid. Like Jaws, which was released 50 years ago today, on June 20, 1975.
