‘Buddy Games’ First Look: Josh Duhamel Hosts New Competition Series for CBS (VIDEO)
When it comes to reality competition series, participants usually play alone. But CBS‘s new series Buddy Games relies on strong friendships as different teams of pals play for a chance to win big under the direction of host Josh Duhamel.
Set to premiere Thursday, September 14 on the network and stream on Paramount+, Buddy Games follows six teams as they put their strengths and weaknesses to the test through a series of physical and mental challenges in order to lock down the championship title and cash prize.
In an exclusive sneak peek, above, Duhamel gets into the hosting spirit approaching every new event with fresh excitement and enthusiasm as lifelong friends and their boundaries are pushed to the limit.
“Six teams of buddies reunite for a summer like no other,” Duhamel’s narration teases in the clip, above. Along with featuring footage of the actor, Duhamel stands close by as the participants celebrate their summer on TV with everything ranging from house parties to challenges including slingshots, food, obstacle courses, and much more.
“One of the magical things about going to camp as a kid is the relationships that you build. We got to recapture that again,” one participant said in the video. Meanwhile, another adds, “We came in and we made 20 new best friends.”
While it’s nice to have friends, Buddy Games is still a competition series that will have to be handled with some strategy with such prizes as cash on the line.
