Fans React to ‘V Wars’ Cancellation at Netflix
It’s never a good day to learn a fan-favorite show will come to an end without warning, and such is the case for viewers of Netflix’s V Wars, which was canceled after one season on March 30.
The series, which is based on the comics by Jonathan Maberry and Alan Robinson, starred The Vampire Diaries‘ Ian Somerhalder and Adrian Holmes (Supernatural, Letterkenny). It follows the story of Dr. Luther Swann (Somerhalder) as his world turns to horror when his best friend, Michael Fayne (Holmes), is transformed into a homicidal monster by a mysterious disease.
When the disease begins to spread, society begins to divide into opposing factions — “normal” people pitted against the diseased, who are seen as “vampires.” While the season depicts Dr. Swann’s efforts to combat the disease, Fayne becomes the leader of the vampires.
Needless to say, fans weren’t pleased with the cancellation, as the show left many open ends in its finale episode. Below, we’re rounding up some of the biggest reactions from viewers so far.

#savevwars They gave the best of themselves, and the result has been great, as we saw, it was the most streamed in most countries. It has a great pilot, an energetic cast and a great attention for details.#vwars @netflix

Please bring Vwars back for a second season. How else are we going to learn what happens to Dr. Swann? Ian is an excellent actor and director. We need more of this kind of show.

It royally sucks that VWars was canceled. The cast did a fantastic job with the story. I was so looking forward to more stories from the books be played out. Hopefully another service will be smart enough to pick it up since Netflix was dumb enough to drop it.

sad to see a good show go, for no apparant reason as it would seem, and above anything, everyone expects streamers not to end shows on cliffhangers, atleast give them like a 2 hour extra episode to close up story-lines, so atleast we the 'paying' viewers can get some sort of closure. If this trend continues with Netflix they will loose a tremenduous amount of viewers in the end

V Wars being cancelled is terrible. I've been looking forward to it since the end of the last show. Ian looked amazing in the last episode and I was looking forward to him kicking some evil butt. Love you Ian

I (We) want to see another season of V Wars. I just watched a documentary on Netflix. How they pick their content, original content, etc. One thing caught my attention. Netflix prides itself on giving original content, i.e V Wars 2 seasons in order to get a fair estimation of a certain series. This first season set up the story of beautifully. Now we'd like to see what Luther Swann does now that he's no long playing nice. At the end of the last episode he showed us it was time to kick ass and forget the names. Come on Netflix, give us one season! Ian Somerhalder, the cast and crew did an excellent job. Hats off to you for all the hard work that was put into this project. We want to see you back, see what happens next!! 2ND SEASON-V WARS- NETFLIX

It’s sad to find that Netflix canceled V Wars, I am a huge Ian Somerhalder fan, and I think he is the greatest thing on television right now. I hope they will reconsider their decision, but if not then give him more starring roles in other Netflix shows because Ian is an awesome actor, he is gorgeous, and his fans love him!! Come on Netflix. We fans want more of Ian!

I just discovered this show and was soooo sad to see that it was not renewed for another season! It’s entertaining, original, and has a great cast. Netflix should reconsider. Maybe Hulu could pick it up?

Why put V Wars on just to cancel the second one. If you are going to do this all the time why put them on in the first place. Who's decision is it, whoever it is, sack them. It's a damn good series and you ruin it again. I'm frightened to watch any series now incase you cancel it. What's the point. You dont know a good series if it's in your face, I'm very disappointed

I do NOT understand why it was canceled...... I loved it!

V Wars was entertaining and a huge cliffhanger that made u want to scream at the tv. But it’s disappointing that Netflix has canceled this show bc of how good it really was. Netflix has truly changed this past year in a bad way. They used to save shows from being canceled but not so much anymore.
