The much-anticipated Starz series Gaslit, starring Julia Roberts as socialite Martha Mitchell, has unveiled its official full-length trailer, giving viewers a taste of what’s to come in the Watergate drama.

Set to premiere Sunday, April 24, across all Starz platforms, Gaslit focuses on the untold stories and forgotten characters of the infamous Watergate scandal. It centers around Roberts’ Martha, wife to President Nixon’s loyal Attorney General, John Mitchell (Sean Penn), who became the first person to sound the alarm on Nixon’s involvement in Watergate, causing both the Presidency and her personal life to unravel.

“Ya’ll just gonna stand around, or are you gonna ask me some questions?” a glamorous Martha asks members of the press in the new trailer (watch below). What follows is panic and chaos as the government attempts to keep a lid on Martha’s “big mouth.” But she is not deterred. “If that gets me banned off Air Force 1, I will fly commercial,” she quips.

Martha’s whistleblowing soon puts her foul-mouthed and ruthless husband John in an unenviable position, as he is forced to choose between his wife and the President.

In addition to Roberts and Penn, the series stars Dan Stevens as John Dean, Betty Gilpin as Mo Dean, Shea Whigham as G. Gordon Liddy, and Darby Camp as Marty Mitchell.

The series is based on the first season of the critically acclaimed Slow Burn podcast and is created and executive produced by Robbie Pickering. It is directed by Matt Ross, who also serves as an exec producer alongside Sam Esmail, Roberts, Lisa Gillan, Marisa Yeres Gill, Gabriel Roth, and Josh Levin. Leon Neyfakh, who created the podcast, consulted on the project.
