‘The Dropout’: Amanda Seyfried Is Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s First Look (VIDEO)
Amanda Seyfried is transformed into controversial former biotech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes in the first trailer for Hulu‘s highly anticipated limited series The Dropout.
The teaser takes a look at the beginning of Holmes’ rise in the medical industry leading to the founding of her company Theranos. Young and ambitious, she’s driven to make her dreams a reality, even if it means blurring the lines of reality.

“The world works in certain ways until a new great idea comes along and changes everything,” Elizabeth says as the teaser begins, below. “What if you could test your blood in your own home, and what if it wasn’t a whole vial, but just a drop?”
It’s an idea that pulls a lot of people in with mixed results as she tries to rush towards the finish line of executing this ideal dream. “I’m going to drop out of Stanford, this machine is going to change the world,” she muses.
Described as a tale of money, romance, tragedy, and deception, The Dropout takes a look at how ambition and fame can go terribly wrong as Elizabeth goes from being the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire to losing it all in the blink of an eye.
Joining Seyfried in the star-studded project is costar Naveen Andrews as Elizabeth’s boyfriend Sunny Balwani, and guest stars Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kate Burton, Michel Gill, LisaGay Hamilton, William H.
