Ingo Rademacher Suing ABC After Being Fired From ‘General Hospital’
The drama behind the scenes of the ABC daytime soap General Hospital continues, past Ingo Rademacher‘s time onscreen.
Rademacher, who was fired from the series after refusing to follow the mandate set that requires cast members to be vaccinated against COVID-19, is now suing ABC, Variety reports. He had tried to get a religious exemption, but the network did not approve his request. As a result, he’s calling the vaccine mandate “unconstitutional” and religious discrimination.
According to Variety, Rademacher said in an email in October he sent to Disney’s HR department, “I am entitled to a religious exemption against mandatory vaccination for COVID-19 on the basis of my deeply and sincerely held moral belief that my body is endowed by my creator with natural processes to protect me and that its natural integrity cannot ethically be violated by the administration of artificially created copies of genetic material, foreign to nature and experimental.”
As part of his lawsuit, the former General Hospital star says that his right to privacy is violated as a result of the vaccine mandate. “This should not be a political issue,” according to the suit. “There is no need for everybody to get the COVID-19 shot, even if the president demands it.”
Rademacher began playing Jasper “Jax” Jacks in 1996. His last episode aired on November 22, two weeks after it was first reported he’d be written out after his recent anti-vax and transphobic remarks. His character left Port Charles to handle business in Sydney, Australia, and he didn’t plan to return for the holidays. “I’m kind of on the outs with everyone in Port Charles right now,” Jax said.

This is sad!! The issue is not religion political I would say yes Vaccines have been used to get rid of polio it’s not saying that you don’t have great immunity it’s the others around you that have underlying consequences that are really dying. if for anything why would you not want to help your fellow men be safe. this covid isn’t going away it’s here to stay, if we could of reached herd it would be somewhat gone it’s going to be like a flu shot every year. I’m sad for you Jax I understand you lost your job because of your beliefs but truly it was for your safety and for the safety of others. In my house I have two children that are immune compromised I couldn’t live with myself if I had given them or anyone else covid be smart be safe. if you could see it that way.

I wish people could and would think of it as a RESPONSIBILITY rather than a right. I feel responsible enough not to want to pass it on to anyone, especially young children or people that have actual health issues and cannot get vaccinated.

Being responsible means making right choices versus wrong; holding oneself accountable for decisions they make and/or acting as a mature adult. Having a responsibility means having an obligation to something or someone. It's having a duty or burden to bear or liability that I am held to. So being a responsible person and making responsible decisions is far different than having a obligation to the rest of the world's population of which I am held to. I say all that to say that I only have an obligation or responsibility to myself and to my family, while it is a responsible choice to vaccinate myself in order to contain the spread of the virus. Meanwhile, I still have the right to make that decision however I deem fit for myself. I have a responsibility to myself to ensure that I know what is going in my body and have the right to be completely aware of the consequences of that blind decision will have on me as well as the rest of the world's population. And mandating that I allow the government to shoot something in my body that I do not completely understand nor does any other scientist or any person on this Earth completely understand quite yet is not what my government is about. There's no mandate saying I have to eat green beans just because they're healthy for me. I have the right to choose a cheeseburger instead. doesn't make it the responsible decision but it is mine to make and I shouldn't have to worry about losing my job when I make that decision

I know this is old but I don't really understand the whole "vaccinated people = good and not contagious, unvaccinated = bad and contagious." Several people at my job got covid from each other because we had office parties, only had to wear a mask when we "went to the bathroom." and sat within inches from each other for 8 hours. We were all forced to get vaccinated to keep our jobs. I don't see how we are considered better human beings than a person who doesn't want nor have the vaccine.

Oh another thing is the Covid vaccine doesn’t stop you from spreading it or prevent you from contracting the disease. If you catch Covid and had the vaccine you only get flue like symptoms.

I think if the left want you out, they will say you are something phobic. It could be something totally innocent. He has a right to his beliefs. He was following all other precautions. I went and had my vaccines and there were disclaimers all over it about the possibility of this happening or ? I had to have a COVID test, because of a biopsy. I signed something there that also said it was not necessarily approved by any Government something?
I know of people who have not had it and there has been no problems. I know some who have had the vaccine and still got it. None of these vaccines, tests etc are for sure or have been around to make sure of anything.
Hundreds and sometimes thousands die of influenza every winter. Nobody forced people to take the flu shot.
If everyone on set had the COVID vaccine, then they were not in any way exposed more than if they went to the store, beach, or whatever where not everyone is exposed.

Good for him. Its been deemed unconstitutional by the courts. This is the utmost epitome of a violation of rights. Getting the vaccine does NOT stop your ability to transmit the virus. If you want it get it !!
but STOP pushing it on everyone else.
