‘General Hospital’: Laura Wright on Carly & Jason’s Engagement ‘Fear’ (VIDEO)
Nothing like a engagement between two besties to raise a lot of questions! That’s the state of the union-to-be on ABC’s General Hospital now that newly minted mob boss Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and fellow boss Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) have started telling friends and family they’re engaged.
Viewers of the long-running daytime soap know this will be a marriage of convenience to convince Port Charles’ criminal element that the Corinthos family is as solid as ever after the “death” of boss Sonny (Maurice Benard). (Of course, we know Sonny is alive but suffering from amnesia and living in nearby Nixon Falls.) But what are the chances that the couple’s long-suppressed romantic feelings for each other could actually begin to resurface? “They don’t go into it lightly,” Wright tells TV Insider in a Zoom interview. “What scares them both about this arrangement is the fear of their feelings that they’ve always had for each other. That has turned into friendship but was based on when they fell in love years ago, when Sarah Brown was playing Carly.”
Wright says the union is not “convenient but it’s necessary.” Really, the timing couldn’t be worse. Carly is still mourning Sonny, and Jason has recently fallen for Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). Now he has to put the brakes on with her so this upcoming marriage to Carly will be seen as believable.
Wright adds that she was thrilled when she first heard about the story line: “I loved it! You’re talking to the person who loves to play everything that people say can’t be played” The Daytime Emmy winner also talked about Thursday’s episode, where Carly butts heads with Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) over the fact that Gladys’ son, Brando (Johnny Wactor), is becoming more involved in the Corinthos mob business. And she previewed what we’ll see with the new pool set that’s being unveiled this week (expect some hard bodies to be unveiled as well!).

I agree. It's time for Sonny to head back to PC, even if he still has amnesia. I don't think the Carly/Jason relationship should change/evolve. I like it the way it has been, so why mess with a good thing? The Jason/Britt storyline had interest & it surely pissed off Sam, even though she set jason free (Sam needs more bite/spunk in her character, but I don't see her & Dante as a couple). I'm expect Britt to end up pregnant, but who's will it be? Jason or Jax (probably Jason's)? Don't care where Nina ends up (her story line needs an overhaul) & yup, Michael & Willow don't work. But at this point, I'm not sure she belongs with Chase anymore either. I know it's just a matter of time before Nelle returns (her existence was confimed by Phyllis to be one of her memory-challenged patients). Now that will spice things up for a while! Oh, and let's get Peter's death out in the open. that storyline is a waste of camera time.

Let someone see Sonny at the hospital and het him home before the wedding. Jason and Carly don’t need to be together even though she controls his life maybe now he will see her for who she is. Jason needs to be with Brit. Nina is good in some areas but not with Sonny. Stop the pity marriages, get Willow and Michael back together. Chase needs to be with Brooke Lynn. Stop with what ever is happening between Sam and Dante. Dante belongs with Lulu.

I just wish I could watch the show again. We have Summit Broadband through our development and they have been negotiating for months over new fees for channel 9. Makes me so angry. So many good programs to watch on this channel and I have been a loyal watcher of GH for many years.

Carly and sonny need to be back together, Nina can go and live in Nixon falls and leave the show or be put in the looney bin! It is just a sick story line, she is keeping him from his kids ,wife and grandkids!!!! Mike is boring and so is the entire storyline in Nixon falls!!!Jason and Brit should be together!!! Mike thing has dragged long enough!!!!

I think Sonny should return with his memories and object to the wedding. Carly as she finds out that Nina knew where Sorry was should kick her Assss. Willow and Michael should get back together because they look great together. Sorry Chase. Hate to see Elizabeth and Fin go down for Peters murder. Hate to see what Maxie is going thru with the absent of her baby girl but Brooklyn needs the baby for the time being. But honestly Sonny needs to get home and get his life back plus the business. Ecstatic about this! I have wanted this forever !! Love sonny and Carly but jasoamd Carly have a ride or die remember sonny threatened to kill Carly once and jason would never see that as an option.. They will be ok. No matter what happens..

I love that Carly & Jason are supporting each other. It has been my hope they marry at some point. I love their loyalty to each other! Even when one is wrong the other ALWAYS has their back! would love to see Carly throw a leg over the back of Jason’s bike once or twice too! That would be awesome
