Marie Kondo

Japanese consultant and author Marie Kondo built an empire on organizational skills. Born in Tokyo, she began her business while still a student at Tokyo Woman's Christian University. She rose to international fame with the publication of her book "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" (Ten Speed Press, 2014). Her KonMari method involves identifying the possessions that make a person happy and focusing organization around those. She continued developing her brand through personal appearances and with the books "Life Changing Magic: Spark Joy Every Day"  (Ten Speed Press, 2015) and "Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up" (Ten Speed Press, 2016). She transitioned to television with "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" (Netflix, 2019). In the series, Kondo traveled to the homes of clients and applied her method to their living space.
